HTC One mini battery life test done by GSMARENA

By Vijay @ 09:21pm

As usual GSMARENA had done their regular & awesome job, batterytests of latest mobile devices, today its HTC ONE MINI.

The HTC One mini is exact xerox copy or clone of HTC One. It has a 1,800mAh Li-Po battery, compared to the 2,300mAh battery of the HTC One, but how that affects real-life performance.

The tinnier battery has to feed a smaller, lower res screen (4.3″ 720p vs. 4.7″ 1080p) and a smaller CPU and GPU.

Talk time is unaffected, it has respectable 12 hours of talktime on 3G. The Samsung Galaxy S4 mini, which is a competing high-end mini, lasted an hour longer on its 1,900mAh battery.

Web browsing is much less forgiving, but the One mini scored near the top with a little over 8 hours. That’s less than the times for the HTC One, iPhone 5 and Galaxy S4 mini, which all lasted almost 10 hours, but it is an hour more than the iPhone 4S.

The video playback time is around 7 hours and 23 minutes. That 720p screen is beautiful to watch and the BoomSound speakers sound sweet, but video playback really eats the battery. The HTC One lasted 10 hours in this test and the Galaxy S4 mini managed a very impressive 13 hours of playback.

In the end less than efficient standby hurts the endurance rating and the HTC One mini scored only 40 hours. Basically one day of moderate usage and the battery charge will be low enough to have you checking if you have enough left.

If you don’t watch much video, or at all, on the phone than you should get a pretty decent run on a single charge with the One mini. Just don’t spend too much time browsing on 3G as that would deplete the battery quickly as well (Tests actually done on a Wi-Fi network).

HTC One Mini vs HTC One (Video Link)

By Vijay @ 03:59pm

You can almost think the HTC One mini is an HTC One, if you don’t know what to look for. We’ll show you in our HTC One Mini vs HTC One comparison! That’s not only because it sports the same design and materials, but also because it is not much smaller than the HTC One. That is, on paper, and compared side-by-side. However, when you hold the phone and you start to actually use it, you will instantly realize that it is a mini version of the flagship.

Everything else is apparently the same to the untrained eye. Upon close examination you’ll see that the power button no longer acts as an IR blaster, like on the One. The volume rockers have also been redesigned a bit and the LED flash on the back has been repositioned.

For our conclusion, make sure to check out our HTC One Mini vs HTC One video comparison below. Of course, we’ll have a lot more on the One Mini, including comparisons and our upcoming full review, so stay tuned to Mobiindiablog….
